Guyanese
Outreach
had acquired the use of
two buildings from
which we operated two libraries
the Computer School,
the Functional Literacy Program as well as
the HIV/AIDS Abstinence Program.
In 2005, The Guyanese
Ministry of Health notified us that
they needed the GMO building that we had
renovated. We had no choice but to vacate the GMO building and
move all of our equipments into
the Vo-Tech
Building which has only two rooms. We are also renting
storage space to
keep office supplies, books, etc.
There
is no other space available to lease; we must purchase land and construct a
building. The cost of land is estimated at between $25,000 and
$40,000 US dollars, depending on the size of the parcel of land,
which must be adjacent to the main road and near to the people who
are in the greatest need.
A new building has been designed for us by MSAADA Architects.
This
three-story structure, with 17,000 square feet of space, will cost
approximately $435,000 US dollars and will house
the contents of both our current buildings. It will also provide
housing for future mission teams, counseling for HIV/AIDS, drugs
alcoholism, a community basketball court, a barn for storing the aid
and meeting rooms.
If
you would like to help with this project,
please prayerfully consider making a donation.
